    Search this electronic atlas of the plants of British Columbia by specific species or comon name, or look up general introductory overviews of the vascular plants of BC, fungi, algae, orchids, etc. for references to plant biology, distribution, taxonomic and propagative information, plus superb photos by BC botanists and photographers. Primarily a site for the serious plant geographer.

    Kemper Center for Home Gardening
    This extensive searchable list of trees, shrubs, perennials, vines, etc suitable for the home gardener is useful  for its photographs and plant information. Most of these plants can be grown here in Vancouver.

    Oregon State University database of more than 600 ornamental plants, mostly woody trees and perennials, provides photographs of identifiable features and seasonal growth. Indexed by common and scientific names.

    Plant Information Online
    This collection of plant databases from the Andersen Horticultural Library is now available free to all users. Includes current plant and seed sources for over 100,000 plants, contact information and links for 2200 North American retail and wholesale seed and nursery companies, bibliographic details for over 350,000 images of wild and cultivated plants from around the world and, newly added, links to expert-selected sites on growing plants in your region of Canada or the US. This site is updated daily. 

    Plants Database
    The PLANTS Database provides information about  plants of the US and its territories. It includes names, distribution, species abstracts, characteristics, images, links, references, crop information and automated tools.

    RHS Plant Selector
    This Royal Horticultural Society database lets you select plants, shrubs, trees, grasses, etc. by growth, habit, color, form, foliage, fragrance and soil type.
